25. Surah al-Furqan

The Quranic Text & Ali’s Version:

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ...

25:55. Yet do they worship, besides Allah, things that can neither profit them nor harm them:

... وَكَانَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَى رَبِّهِ ظَهِيرًا ﴿٥٥﴾

and the Misbeliever is a helper (of Evil), against his own Lord!

C3115. Here is the highest contrast of all-material things which are inert, and Allah, Whose goodness and power are supreme; Faith and Unfaith, meriting glad tidings and admonition; the selfish man who is self-centred, and the man of God, who works for others without reward.

25:55

And yet, some people 45 worship, instead of God things that can neither benefit them nor harm them: thus, he who denies the truth does indeed turn his back on his Sustainer!
