5. Surah Al-Ma'idah

The Quranic Text & Ali’s Version:

إِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ اللّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ ...

5: 55. Your (real) friends are (no less than) Allah, His Messenger, and the (fellowship of) believers,

... الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاَةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُمْ رَاكِعُونَ ﴿٥٥﴾

those who establish regular prayers and regular charity, and they bow down humbly (in worship).

Yusuf Ali Your (real) friends are (no less than) Allah His Apostle and the (fellowship of) believers those who establish regular prayers and regular charity and they bow down humbly (in worship).

Pickthall Your friend can be only Allah; and His messenger and those who believe, who establish worship and pay the poor due, and bow down (in prayer).

Transliteration Innama_ waliyyukumulla_hu wa rasu_luhu_ wallazina a_manul lazina yuqimu_nas sala_ta wa yu'tu_naz zaka_ta wa hum ra_ki'u_n(a).
