NEVER

Asad These are God’s message: We convey them unto thee, setting forth the truth, since God wills no wrong to His creation

[note 81].

Yusuf Ali These are the Signs of Allah: We rehearse them to thee in truth: and Allah means no injustice to any of His creatures.

Pickthall These are revelations of Allah. We recite them unto thee in truth. Allah willeth no injustice to (His) creatures.

Transliteration Tilka a_ya_tulla_hi natlu_ha_'alaika bil haqq(i), wa malla_hu yuridu zulmal lil'a_lamin(a).

[ Asad’s note 81- Lit., “to the worlds”. For an explanation of this sentence, see 6:131-132 and note 117 (Lit., “all shall have grades out of what they did”, i.e., consciously –since God does not take people to task for any wrong they may have committed unless it was done in conscious contravention of a moral law already made clear to them by the prophets.]

[ Ruby’s note – the way this sentence is structured linking two main clauses: “setting for the truth” and “God wills no wrong” indicate that God is revealing the messages so that the people become aware of the causes and consequences of reality. Without knowledge one cannot be held accountable for the wrong things one does. But there are some natural consequences and God does not want one to get that consequences without knowing. Therefore the revelations are sent to warn the people.]

15: 4

[ Asad 4 : …..unless the people in question had been shown through a divine writ the meaning of right and wrong and had deliberately rejected this divine guidance: ………see 26:208, ….6: 131, that God “would never destroy a community for tis wrongdoing so long as its people are still unaware [of the meaning of right and wrong]”. ]

[26 ash-Shuara, Mecca 47]
